As far as short weekends go....

This past weekend I traveled to Glacial Lake State Park for GSC 2009 the 7th? annual meeting of some really great people who like to have fun.

While Meg wasn't able to make it we did have a few new folks. J-Mo made the trip for the first time and we carpooled out there on Friday evening. We arrived in time to set up a tent and have a refreshing beverage.

C-Murder and I united to form what would become known as the world's most powerful "skill sports" duo. While in years past Team BS had been nearly flawless. They saw their luster lack as Team DA destroyed them in EVERYTHING. It's so sad when athletes don't recognize the point at which they should walk away from the game.

The camping trip was great and I'm a little sad that we have to wait another year to do it again. Hopefully we can add a couple more folks and fill out the brackets next year.

Meg also had a great weekend and had some crazy amazing stories to tell from her trip to LA. Something about a house with an elevator to a spaceship containing a shipment of celebrities bound for the Scientology motherland. One of the Mad celebs approached her with a smoking stick and tried to wrap her in his jacket. She was able to escape by spilling her drink on Obama and flying home on a quilt of red carpet dresses.

I may have her story a little mixed up so you'll have to ask her to clarify.

Boat Dock Sandwich

Meg and I had a great fourth this year. We celebrated with a group of friends at some lake in Roseville. For kicks I thought I would have my leg crushed by a boat.

When it happened I thought for sure it would snap but I didn't hear anything and it didn't hurt too bad for the first couple days. It did start to swell up though. Gross. I took these a couple days ago and the color has really started to fill in nicely. Tough to capture all the yellow and grays with the indoor lighting.

I finally broke down and Meg took me to the Urgent Care who said I'd have to go to the emergency room who then told me to walk it off.

I still had a really fun fourth and I still like boats.

Lessons Palin could learn from Biden...

These are just off the top of my head so if you have any ideas please share...

1. Know something about something.
2. Know something about anything.
3. Know how to use language to convey that something to others.
4. Know the difference between communicating and whatever the hell she's been doing lately.
5. Know how to shut up and let people get back to work.
6. Know how to get back to work.
7. The difference between a pitbull and hockey mom. (Hint: purpose)

Three nice things...

My sister has three nice babies.

Meg and I had a chance to go back and visit this June for baby Eli's baptism. Hard to believe but we actually saw snow flakes. I guess we're not moving to North Dakota anytime soon. Fortunately the baptism was indoors.

Ava was so excited to see us she was walking on the ceiling!

Lucas wasn't too sure about me. Lucky for him he could keep an eye on me while eating 'cause that kid LOVES TO EAT!!

What a great trip!! Hope we can stay longer next time. We miss them already.

Sink the Bismarck.

I've been a very bad blogger. I've so many pix to load and stories to tell.

In the mean time here are a couple scenes from Bismarck on Tuesday as icejams threaten to flood the city.

Go Vikes!

So I spent some more time today attempting to compile and invite list for the big day next November. This has proven a little more difficult than I thought. I'm so reluctant to call the matter closed and start addressing envelopes as I'm afraid I've missed someone. (Or lots of someones.)

Work is work for most.

Did I mention that Meg and I are getting Married?!? She's the best around and we have way too much fun. It seems like every weekend and week are packed with events. Which is awesome but there are times I'd like to just stay home, sleep, and eat a plate of nachos with Meg D. (Or maybe tie ribbons on "Save Da Dates")

Work lately seems to be getting in the way. Every day we are dragging ourselves out of the house to go sit in an office and turn our minds off in order to get some things done. I seem to recall possibly enjoying work at one point however ridiculous that might sound, but now it's just busy work. No thinking involved, and I could be doing some real good things with my friends or family instead, or exploring, or napping.

What a waste. I'm thinking that there might be an opportunity in a sponsorship program for adults. I've seem them for kids, students, seniors, and drug addicts, but I haven't come across any that I might qualify. Keep your eyes peeled.

Truck 4 Sale!

My next ride brought to you by ChryslerDaimlerFiat. It's the 501!!

(Model is 4'7") I'd think I'd be okay driving a matchbox if only I could find someplace to put my legs. Maybe they'll start rolling out the joystick as a means of control or some other means of controlling propulsion. How many of these electric vehicles will have a hole in the floorboard where the brake and gas peddles are physically controlling levers and brackets? None. How about the WiiGo or WiiCar where you just wave your hand to merge into traffic?
